It’s not just an Indicator
The inSite Rating is a simple indicator of how well prepared your website is to do business.
The inSite Rating process analyses a number of basic, and a few advanced features of your website, but these are by no means “Technical” tests.
The days of “just building a website” are over. A website today is much more than just pages, images and links. It’s even more than just videos and audio files. It’s even more the fancy flash presentations.
The bottom line for any website is how well it achieves its objectives, and for most businesses that means getting the phone ringing and money come in through the door.
Sadly, most websites fail to meet their objectives.
That’s why we developed the inSite Rating.
It’s Designed for Business Owners
One thing you may notice about the test is that there no technical Jargon involved…
We did that on purpose.
Most business owners don’t really understand, or care, if we said, for example – “You’re home page doesn’t have a meta description tag”.
As we’ve seen, most businesses owners nod their heads, kinda get that something wrong, but don’t really make the link to understand how it’s affecting their business. But if we said “your site has been designed in a way that is probably preventing prospects calling you”…then they “get it”.
It’s for this reason we intentionally left out the jargon and put everything in business terms.
When we say that “you’re only utilising 53% of an opportunity to be found in an increasingly popular medium”… it’s clear what needs to be done. There needs to be improvement… and improvement that can see measurable results quickly.
The inSite Rating results will empower you as a businesses owner to really get a grip about your on-line business.
Should you worry if you’re NOT an “A”?
Let’s put it this way… If you’re sales team were only performing at 50% of what they were capable of? What would this mean?
Half the profits?
Not really… it could be worse!
Let’s look at a really simple example.
Let’s say that your costs are 50K, and with your sales team performing at as “normal” you bring in 100K.
Your profit would be … 50K.
Your sales team drops to 50% - Your profits would be a big fat 0.
On the other hand… if you were able to push your sales team and generate 10% more results, your costs may go up marginally, but most of that extra 10K would be profits.
That’s the power of a business generating website.
Because any additional “performance” (or “juice” as we like to call it) you can generate from your website usually relates directly to the bottom line.
So if you’re NOT an “A” – you’re losing business. Period.
Finding the “Quick Wins”
The great thing about the inSite rating is it highlights a number of areas that can be improved immediately.
Why is that?
Well – most designers that build websites haven’t got a clue, or certainly don’t focus on actually doing business on-line. In fact, they overlook many of the things that are important. (It actually frustrates us all the time… just because a designer can build a web site, doesn’t mean they can generate business on-line for you).
These “Quick Wins” are potentially quick to fix, and the results can be seen almost immediately, but often more serious problems may exist.
It’s amazing how many businesses miss out on one major critical element of their on-line businesses - this one thing has proven to increase enquiry calls from the website by up to 100%, and it can take just 10 minutes to “fix”.
This is where as a my Internet Director client you really benefit. The inSite Rating can only find so many “Quick Wins” automatically… but the trained eyes and business acumen of a “my Internet Director” can spot many more.
The inSite Rating is here to help you improve your business, the Critical, Important, Recommendation and Information sections give you a quick glance at where your site can be improved. Having said that.. it’s just a test of 20 indicators that we see as important to doing business on-line today. A thorough test by the my Internet Director would produce much more information and is what we do for all our clients.
